1. Introduction
FitAsia (“the App”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) is a mobile calorie- and nutrition-tracking application. The App is published on Google Play under the developer name AInstitute and is operated by Tony Chandra, an individual developer based in Tangerang Selatan, Indonesia.
This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect when you use FitAsia, how we use and protect it, who we share it with, and the rights and choices you have. By creating an account or using the App, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
2. Information we collect
We only collect the information needed to provide the App’s core features: calorie tracking, food-photo analysis, and progress tracking.
a) Account information
- Name (the display name you enter, or the name from your Google account)
- Email address
- Profile photo (optional)
b) Health and fitness information
- Gender, Age, Height
- Current weight and goal weight
- Your goal (lose, maintain, or gain weight) and activity level
- Daily calorie and water goals (calculated by the App)
c) Food, water, and activity logs
- Photos of food that you scan or upload for analysis
- Food and nutrition entries (calories, macronutrients, AI-generated results)
- Water intake logs
- Weight logs over time
- Step / activity logs (if enabled)
d) Information collected automatically
Our service providers may automatically collect limited technical data such as a device identifier and basic diagnostic information. We do not collect your location, payment information, contacts, or browsing history. We do not use advertising identifiers.
3. How we use your information
- Create and manage your account and sign you in
- Analyze food photos and estimate nutritional content
- Calculate your personalized daily calorie and nutrition goals
- Save your food, water, weight, and activity history
- Keep the App secure and diagnose problems
- Respond to your questions and support requests
We do not sell your personal data. We do not use your data for advertising. We do not share it with data brokers.
4. AI analysis of food photos
When you scan or upload a food photo, the photo is sent to Google’s Gemini AI service for automated analysis. Gemini returns an estimate of the food and its nutritional content, which the App saves to your food log.
- Photos are processed only to provide the nutrition estimate you requested.
- Nutrition estimates are automated and may not always be accurate. They are for general informational purposes only and are not medical or dietary advice.
5. How your data is stored and who we share it with
FitAsia is built on Google Firebase and Google Cloud. We rely on the following Google services:
- Firebase Authentication — account creation and sign-in
- Cloud Firestore — stores your profile, goals, and logs
- Firebase Storage — stores your food and profile photos
- Google Gemini AI — analyzes food photos to estimate nutrition
Your data is stored primarily in Google’s Southeast Asia (asia-southeast1, Singapore) region. We do not share your personal data with any parties other than these Google service providers, except when you ask us to, or when required by law.

6. Data security
Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and access is restricted by Firebase security rules so that you can only read and write your own data.
7. Data retention
We keep your personal data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your data is deleted as described in Section 8.
8. How to access, correct, and delete your data
Access and correction: You can view and edit your profile inside the App on the Edit Profile screen.
Deleting your account: You can permanently delete your account at any time:
- Open the App and go to Profile → Delete Account
- Re-authenticate, then confirm the deletion
This deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. If you cannot access the App, email us or visit our account deletion page.
9. Your privacy rights
You may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict the use of your data. In Indonesia, these rights are provided under Undang-Undang No. 27 Tahun 2022 (UU PDP). Contact us using the details in Section 11 to exercise these rights.
10. Children’s privacy
FitAsia is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If we learn we have done so without consent, we will delete it.
